Pest and weed scouting using UAV

Sustainable pest and weed management is a consistent challenge in wild blueberry production in Newfoundland. As part of the alternative pest and weed management solutions, this project implements unmanned-aerial vehicle (UAV) imaging for effective pest scouting and weed detection.

One of the core goals of this project is to utilize affordable UAV imaging (i.e. RGB) for detecting leaf irregularities due to pest attacks and identifying weed patches across a low-bush wild blueberry field. The project aims to provide low-cost solutions for precision pest and weed management in wild berry production in Newfoundland.
